This July, the Evento Creative Arts Academy welcomed a brilliant group of young people to Gaelcholáiste Carlow for our very first summer camp and what an unforgettable week it was!

From Monday to Friday, the halls and classrooms were filled with singing, dancing, laughter, learning, and plenty of colour. We were blown away by the talent, creativity and kindness shown by every single participant. With age groups ranging from 6 to 16, the camp was designed to build confidence, develop performance and communication skills, and most importantly, provide a fun and welcoming space to be yourself.

Each day brought something new, from ice breakers and headband games to full-on rehearsals, original script writing and vibrant art sessions. The juniors charmed us with their Minions-inspired dance, while the seniors dived into Mamma Mia with energy and heart. The middle and senior groups even wrote, directed and performed their own short plays, showing just how powerful creative freedom can be.

We were also proud to see our core values shine through, expression, teamwork, and support. The friendships formed over the week were just as magical as the performances. Seeing participants go from shy on day one to standing centre stage by Friday was a real highlight for the whole team.

We wrapped up the week with a joyous showcase for family and friends, where every participant took to the stage to perform and share their favourite memories. There were standing ovations, proud tears and beaming smiles, moments we’ll never forget.

A massive thank you to Marie, Pamela, and to Clem and Orla, our incredible hosts at Gaelcholáiste Carlow. And most of all, to every parent, guardian, and young person who trusted us to be part of your summer.

This was our very first Creative Arts Academy Camp but it certainly won’t be our last.

The Evento Creative Arts Academy is now offering a nationwide series of dynamic workshops designed to ignite creativity, build confidence, and strengthen collaboration through the performing arts. We’re delighted to launch Evento Productions, the new in-house production arm of Evento Ireland.
