Getting involved in our Summer Youth Musical is simple. We’ve designed the process to be clear, welcoming, and accessible for everyone, whether you are new to performing or have previous experience.

Step 1: Attend the Open Workshop (Optional but Recommended)

📅 Thursday, May 28th

Our Launch & Open Workshop is the perfect place to start.

This free session gives you the chance to:

Experience what it’s like to be part of the production
Meet the team
Build confidence before auditions

👉 While not required, it is strongly recommended.

Step 2: Book an Audition Workshop

📅 Friday 26th – Sunday 28th June

All performers must take part in an audition workshop.

You will:

Book a time slot
Take part in a relaxed, group based session
Be guided through singing, movement, and performance

👉 Everyone takes part in the same process
👉 There are opportunities for both lead roles and ensemble

Step 3: Casting

Following the audition process:

A full company will be selected
This includes lead and ensemble roles
Selected participants may be invited to callbacks before final decisions

Not everyone who auditions will be cast, but every participant will gain valuable experience from the process.

Step 4: Rehearsals

📅 July & August

Rehearsals will take place across the summer in a mix of:

Midweek sessions
Weekend sessions

Lead roles may require additional rehearsal time.

👉 A good level of availability is expected from all cast members.

Step 5: Performance Week

📅 Late August
📍 VISUAL Carlow

All cast members must be available for:

Full show week: August 24th – 28th

This is when the production comes together for:

Technical rehearsals
Dress rehearsals
Live performances

💰 Fees

€5 audition workshop booking fee
€25 registration fee (if cast)

👉 The audition fee will be deducted from the registration fee upon acceptance.
